The Domaine de l'Orviel Rosé, Duché d'Uzès 2020 is from winemaker and owner Adrien Debaud who has been making wines “his wines, his way” which often means by hand, applying traditional methods and paying special attention to the details. His winery and vineyards are located in the cooler climate of the base of the Cévennes mountains, not far from Avignon. The 2020 Rosé is 50% grenache and 50% syrah and I could finish this bottle in a New York minute. However, don't assume this wine is lacking character or depth. It's got gorgeous notes of blackcurrant and violet but the fruit is not over ripe. At the back end there's a wonderfully lifting finish. Bright, juicy, and lengthy. Lip smacking good but a totally serious wine.
