Wine Tasting This Week - July 2 & 3
Thursday 6:30pm; Friday 6pm
Celebrating Immigrants’ Stories & Wines for Independence Day
$25 Tasting Fee
My dad was an immigrant from Mexico. He worked hard all his life, contributed to this wonderful country, and became a U.S. Citizen back in 1963. To honor my dad, I pour wines made by immigrants and tell their inspiring stories. Join me to salute those who have come to this country and have made it a better place to live. Among the stories you will hear …
-
The winemaker who went to France to learn to make wine without knowing a word of French. Within a month she was fluent in French and later became one of the top winemakers in America.
-
The winemaker who grew up in war torn Bosnia and had to walk stealthily to school to avoid snipers. She is producing some incredible wines in our backyard now.
-
The winemaker who is a superstar in an adopted homeland in a region that has many immigrant winemakers, but with a twist.
-
The farmer who traveled 5,000 miles from the Azores to plant what many consider the greatest vineyard in America.
-
The lawyer who started a winery, but, more importantly, treats his immigrant workers with the respect that should be the standard for all. Today, his son and daughter-in-law are carrying on with this good work.
Here’s the lineup for this tasting….
